Hugely popular and crowd favourite, the ‘Kids Aqua’ is just for kids 6-13’s years of age and draws our largest cheers.
Hundreds take part and we go all out to make it a safe and fun experience.
Kids distances
- U10’s- 120m swim + 2km run
- 10-13’s – 200m swim + 2km run
Do the whole event or split the distance as a ‘tag team’
Parents can tag along and help U10’s too.
Fully supported by our awesome lifesavers, run marshals and volunteers.
Awesome finisher medals, fully supported, age awards and give aways, and we go out all to make it safe and super fun.

EVENT DETAILS
10-13's 200m Swim + 2k Run
COURSE INFO
Swim: U10’s 120m / 10-13’s 200m*
Kids are treated to a safe and fun swim, carefully watched and supported by our amazing lifesavers the whole way. We do need the child to be able to swim the distance un-aided though parents of children u10 can support their child in the swim, but not impact other swimmers.
Start on sandy shoreline of Wollongong harbour, in groups of 2-3 kids at a time. Run into the water, and swim a rectangular course keeping within 60m of the shore as the course map shows.
10-13’s follow a 20om course and the U10’s drops to 120m.
*distance/course may change on the day due to safety/conditions
Transition / Change area
Exit the swim from the shoreline, then run 50m to the NEW flat grass area on the north side.
Change here into your joggers and run out the new exit path, north (right) along the grass/sand exiting little harbour beach stairwell to join the cycle way. Follow marshals directions as per map below.
Run: 2km ALL ages
It’s flat, safe and fun -follows the coastline all along the beautiful ‘blue mile’ track to north beach U-turn atthe sign / marshal and back to the finish on the road under the finish arch at Wollongong harbour .
Loads course marshals and easy to follow out and back.
Soak up the applauds, give yourself a high five, wear your awesome finisher medal with pride, and enter the recovery area (fruit/water) and have your parent/guardian look out for you.
