Australia Day 2011 will come alive again as Australia's largest (and were pretty sure the Worlds!) largest and premier Aquathon takes to the scenic foreshore of Wollongong harbour yet again. 2011 brings the 13th edition of what is billed as 'splash n dash at the gong'. 2010 drew another fantastic record with over 1800 participants across all ages and standards, spectators lined three deep, a magic safe event and near $20,000 raised for charities and non for profits. We take our hat off to the amazing efforts of our fund raisers and set the challenge out to raise the bar another notch in 2011.

AQUATHON - it's just a splash a dash n loads of FUN:)
The Australia Day Illawarra Aquathon is Australia's largest Aquathon with an expected 1500+ participants expected to splash n dash at the picturesque Wollongong harbour. Billed as a fun community fitness event involving swimming and running, 2011 marks the 13th edition of the Aquathon, which is held annually as part of the hugely popular Australia Day festivities at Wollongong Harbour.
Participants have a choice of three events covering all ages and standards - Kidz Aquafun, Short Aqua and Long Aqua. That draws hundreds of families right through to elite athletes and very first timers all in the mix.
Renowned for it's spectacular & safe location, value entry, fantastic prizes and give aways, buzzing friendly atmosphere, and exceptional volunteers - it's no wonder the Aquathon continues to grow in popularity each year.
